THE WELLINGTON REGIONAL FURNWARE PRINCIPALS’ LEADERSHIP
AWARD
in association with Furnware Ltd
The Wellington Regional Primary Principals’ Association
is pleased to offer an annual leadership award of $10,000.

This award is made possible by the joint efforts of this Association
and Furnware Ltd. The support for principalship by our sponsor is
acknowledged and appreciated. This is an exciting opportunity for
principals across the WRPPA region to follow an area of interest,
to expand their knowledge and experience and to enjoy the pleasures
of travel, within and beyond Aotearoa: New Zealand. Applicants must
be current financial members of WRPPA.
Conditions of the Award
1. Selection criteria will include
• suitability and relevance of the project and its current
significance
• ability to use the outcomes in own school and wider education
community
• capacity of the applicant to complete a quality project
• Prerequisite: Applicants must hold a permanent appointment
in the region. Applicants must also have accumulated at least 5
years service as a permanent principal, the last two years of which
must have been in the Association’s region.
2. Short-listed applicants will attend a meeting with the selection
panel to discuss their
proposal.
3. The recipient of the award will be announced at the annual conference.
He/she will be required to take up the planned programme within
the twelve months following.
4. The recipient will be required to furnish the association with
a financial statement and written report at the conclusion of the
project, and will make a presentation to the association at a suitable
time.
5. Applications are to be forwarded, on the WRPPA Leadership Award
application form, to the WRPPA Secretary, by 1 March each year for
consideration by an awards committee.
